Electrodiagnosis is an important part of the diagnostic evaluation for patients with suspected neuromuscular diseases. The electrodiagnostician should maintain a broad, inclusive differential diagnosis and tailor the examination using a sound conceptual framework. A clear understanding of what is normal provides the proper foundation on which to judge electrodiagnostic findings.
