The University of Iowa Nursing Collaboratory: a partnership for creative education and practice

This article describes a comprehensive partnership between a college of nursing and its corresponding department of nursing services. The Nursing Collaboratory was created to provide an infrastructure for the generation, dissemination, and application of knowledge to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes. In addition to creative problem solving, the Collaboratory serves as an "incubator" of ideas and innovation, engaging nursing staff, faculty, and students in the development of new products and services to enhance nursing education and practice.
