Abstract:
Long-term results of 724 hemorrhoidectomies were followed up from 6 months till 7 years. Various complications after operation were revealed in 172 (23.3%) patients. In 46 (26.7%) patients the failures were associated with unrecognized proctological diseases before operation, in 51 (30%)--with removal of hemorrhoids and in 63 (36.6%) patients the concomitant diseases of other organs and systems were the causes of complications.
