Large differences in serum leptin levels between nonwesternized and westernized populations: the Kitava study

Summary

Serum leptin levels were significantly lower in non-westernized Kitavans compared to westernized Swedes. This difference is likely due to the absence of overweight and hyperinsulinaemia in the Kitavan population.
