Community outreach begins inside

While vocal animal rights activists are widely recognized as a potential danger to biomedical research, much less attention is paid to anti-research sentiments that may be inadvertently propagated by those working within the biomedical research field. The author explores a number of "internal outreach" programs to educate employees about the importance of the work they do, as well as the necessity of using animals.
