Operant conditioning and psychoanalysis: contrasts, similarities, and some thoughts about integration
American Journal of Psychotherapy
|January 1, 1975
Abstract:
An operant conditioning orientation and a psychoanalytic one are compared, in terms of differences and likenesses, on a number of dimensions. A few ideas are offered as to why advocates of each approach have generated more heat than light in their discussions with one another; and thereby worked against mutual enrichment and integration of the two viewpoints.
