Maternal serum screening using inhibin A, free beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (free beta-hCG), and unconjugated estriol (uE3) can effectively screen for pre-eclampsia in the second trimester. This combination detects 55% of pre-eclampsia cases with a 5% false positive rate.
