Microstructural tissue alterations occur in the putamen and thalamus in cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL). These changes, particularly in the thalamus, may indicate white matter damage and impact cognitive function.
