Abstract:
Rudolf Meyer (1844-1924) was the first rhinolaryngologist in the town of Zurich. His scientific effort was remarkable. Before his death, he gave a selection of his articles, letters and instruments to the founder of the institute for medical history, where they were hidden until now. Interesting letters of medical colleagues, but also of politicians, historians, writers and poets (Gottfried Keller, C. F. Meyer, Johann Spyri, Jakob Bosshart) are among them. The long list of his students shows many illustrious names.
