Abstract:
Born in Metz, in 1802, E.A. Bégin son of an "Officier de Santé", was accepted for the "Military Instruction Hospital" of this town he left in 1822, promoted "Aide-Major" (a surgeon). He was appointed to the same establishment before having been incorporated, in 1824, into the French occupying power in Spain, and, after his return to Nancy and Strasbourg hospitals, in 1828. Then, he carried on studying medicine and became Doctor of Strasbourg Faculty.
