[Pathogenetic study of femoral head necrosis caused by cortical steroid]

Abstract
Objective:
To study cortical steroid caused femoral head necrosis.
Methods:
We designed an experimental animal model of femoral head necrosis through cortical steroid administration. Lipid analyses of blood samples were made and examined specimens from livers and femoral heads were studied with HE, TEM methods.
Results:
Cortical steroid resulted in dearrangement of fat metabolism, lipid change of liver and hyperlipemia.
Conclusion:
The pathogenesis of femoral head necrosis is due to fatty degeneration of osteocytes.
