Summary

Fluoride-releasing compomers, Hytac and Dyract AP, significantly reduced secondary caries formation compared to filled composite (Filtek Z250) in vitro. Compomers demonstrated lower lesion depths and wall lesion frequencies, indicating better caries resistance.

    • Compomers may offer a clinical advantage in reducing the risk of recurrent caries at the restoration margins.
    • Further clinical studies are warranted to confirm these in vitro findings.
