Abstract:
A case of protein-losing enteropathy associated with aortic stenosis and without signs of right-sided heart failure is described. The protein loss was diagnosed and quantitated by 111Indium-transferrin imaging and whole-body retention. The intestinal loss of protein decreased from 35% to 5% after implantation of a mechanical aorta valve.
