Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the prevalence and clinicopathological features of large bowel lymphoma.
  • To compare findings with existing literature.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 8 histologically diagnosed large bowel lymphoma cases over 5 years.
  • Diagnosis confirmed via colonoscopic biopsies.
  • Treatment involved surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy.

Main Results:

  • Large bowel lymphoma accounted for 12.3% of all GI lymphomas studied.

  • Altered bowel habits and diarrhea were common symptoms; 4-year disease-free survival was 66.7%.
  • Conclusions:

    • Large bowel lymphoma is a curable malignancy with aggressive management.
    • Primary surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy is recommended for all patients.
