Abstract:
Phytochemical analysis of the whole plant of Salvia moorcroftiana Wall. (Lamiaceae) resulted in the isolation of two new flavonoid glycosides, together with three known compounds. The structures of the new compounds were established as genkwanin 4'-O-alpha-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1-->6)-beta-D-galactopyranoside (1) and genkwanin 4'-O-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->2)-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->6)]-beta-D-galactopyranoside] (2). The structures of all compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including 2D NMR techniques.
