Brigden (1995) described patients with cancer seeking alternative therapies as being on a quest for natural, less toxic therapies. Hydrazine sulfate exemplifies these pursuits. Hydrazine sulfate is relatively inexpensive, easily administered, and reportedly has low toxicity. Lerner (1997) stated that "although Gold has not received the credit that is his due, by staying within the cancer establishment and playing by the rules, he has brought hydrazine sulfate significantly further than Burzynski has brought antineoplastons" (p. 440).
