Abstract:
This paper reviews the present knowledge regarding methods of caries prediction. The clinician's ability to predict caries by examination and on the basis of knowledge of patient's attitude and background functions relatively well. Bacterial and salivary tests do not contribute significantly to this. The caries present at the moment of examination, the cariesexperience, is the best predictor of caries among children.
