Reflections on achieving professional leadership

This inspirational message was prepared as the capstone speech for the 1999 Helene Fuld Health Trust Fellowship Program for Emerging Nurse Leaders. At the time Dr. Fitzpatrick was President of the American Academy of Nursing. Key to her message is that future leaders should be encouraged to focus on the development of a career perspective as they develop transformational leadership skills.
