Coordinated school health

Whether or not connected with a school, all pediatric nurses can consider what roles to play in improving student's health and advancing CSH programs. Some hospitals are adopting schools or classes as part of their public relations efforts. Others are sponsoring in-school clinics. For nurses working in health care agencies, lending expertise on specific topics or serving as a liaison to schools is invaluable. Equally important is educating school administrators, school board members, and parents as to the role good health plays in children's academic achievement.
