Summary

Perindopril, an ACE inhibitor, effectively treats congestive heart failure (CHF) by improving exercise tolerance and reducing symptoms. It demonstrates good tolerability and a lower incidence of first-dose hypotension compared to other ACE inhibitors.

Background:

  • Perindopril is a long-acting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor.
  • It acts via its active metabolite, perindoprilat, inhibiting the renin-angiotensin system.
