Abstract
Purpose:
This paper discusses the approach of enzymatic vitrectomy and potential applications.
Methods:
A description of available agents for enzymatic vitreous surgery will be given and the techniques that have been suggested.
Results:
Both animal and human results will be presented in this article regarding trials of enzymatic vitreous surgery.
Conclusion:
Enzymatic vitreous surgery may be a useful adjunct or additional agent to treat several vitreoretinal diseases.
