Magnetization transfer (MT) imaging of normal-appearing white matter (NAWM) can predict multiple sclerosis (MS) clinical progression. Lower baseline MT ratio (MTr) in NAWM indicates a higher likelihood of disability worsening over five years.

  • Magnetization transfer (MT) imaging detects abnormalities in normal-appearing white matter (NAWM) earlier than conventional MRI.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate if MT imaging can predict the 5-year clinical evolution of MS.
  • To assess the prognostic utility of baseline MT ratio (MTr) in different brain tissues.
