Summary

Saliva contains basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), crucial for tissue repair. This study found bFGF levels significantly decrease with age, being highest in children and lowest in the elderly.

  • Quantification of bFGF concentration using a commercial enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit.
