Background:

  • Odontogenic cysts are developmental or acquired lesions of the jaw, with glandular odontogenic cysts being a rare but locally aggressive subtype.
  • Coincidental findings of vascular abnormalities in the head and neck region can complicate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Observation:

  • A large glandular odontogenic cyst of the mandible was detected.
  • A concurrent soft tissue lesion, radiographically suggestive of a carotid aneurysm, was incidentally observed on panoramic imaging.
  • Computed tomography (CT) delineated the mandibular lesion's extent and confirmed the presence of the vascular abnormality.

Findings:

  • CT angiography, magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), and ultrasound (US) were employed to definitively assess the suspected carotid artery aneurysm.
