[Fujian population growth]

Family planning has been carried out in Fujian Province with remarkable results over the past few years under the loving care and leadership of the party committees and people's governments at all levels. The population growth rate dropped from 13.02/1000 in 1979 to 9.33/1000 last year, or 91,000 less than 1979. Fujian Province has thus fulfilled the population control quota set by the state.
