American emigration: similarities and differences among migrants to Australia and Israel
Abstract:
"... The primary objective of this paper [is] to study American emigrants with respect to their motivations for migration, their absorption in the host country, and the factors in return migration to the United States." The focus of the paper is on U.S. migration to Australia and Israel. The data are from interviews and surveys conducted by the authors since 1974 and by the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics. The similarities and differences between the two groups of migrants are discussed.
