Abstract:
The proposed classification is designed to make publications more exact. Information about sizes, location of cysts, terms of their detection permits to judge about causes of recurrences. Primary echinococcosis is pathology associated with development of hydatid cysts revealed for the first time before surgical treatment. Primary cysts are all the cysts revealed before and during surgery, including ones which could be potentially detected. They are also called primary after surgery if they have not been removed for some reason (it is possible to use term "residual" cysts because their nature is known).
