Caring for Bangladeshi children with atopic eczema
1London NHS Trust.

|November 6, 2002
Abstract:
A clinical nurse specialist discusses the care of Bangladeshi children with atopic eczema in the UK, outlining some specific differences in the way the condition presents in Asian children. The article also outlines some health beliefs and practices among Bangladeshi families which may affect the way they regard and manage atopic eczema. Nurses in a multicultural society such as the UK have a professional duty to offer appropriate care for all cultural groups and to try to ensure effective communication with families whose first language is not English.
