Summary

Non-anticoagulated patients with suspected pulmonary embolism (PE) and no deep venous thrombosis (DVT) symptoms can safely forgo anticoagulation after a negative CT scan. This approach is safe unless patients are critically ill or have a high clinical suspicion for PE.
