Reproductive diseases of pet bird species

Avian reproductive disorders are reviewed in this article. They are a result of a complex combination of hormonal, physiologic and behavioral actions reacting to photoperiods, food availability and availability of nest sites. Some of the common reproductive disorders seen in companion birds, and methods applicable to their diagnosis, treatment and prevention are discussed.
