Delayed purpuric reaction following superficial dermabrasion
Archives of Dermatology
|January 1, 1976
Abstract:
A hemorrhagic reaction of unknown cause can occur approximately five weeks after superficial dermabrasion of tattoos. This reaction may lead to alarm in the patient and possibly to increased scarring the area treated. Intralesional corticosteroid injections have sped resolution. It is wise to forewarn patients of this potential complication of tattoo dermabrasion.
