Perangiographic rupture of a right posterior communicating artery aneurysm

Contrast material was seen to extravasate twice from a posterior communicating arterial aneurysm during injection of the internal carotid artery under local anesthesia. The patient made full recovery. The aneurysm was then successfully clipped. The authors review related reports. The increase in distal arterial pressure is thought to be the cause of the aneurysmal rupture.
