1Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Second Affiliated Hospital, WCUMS, Chengdu 610041, China.
Objective:
To study the expression of cell cycle associated proteins Cyclin D1, P16 in endometrial carcinoma and their correlation to clinical parameters, and to assess the correlation between their expression status.
Methods:
Immunohistochemical method was used to detect Cyclin D1 and P16 expressions in 64 cases of endometrial carcinoma.
Result:
The positive rate of Cyclin D1 was 54.68%. The Cyclin D1 expression was significantly associated with FIGO stage (P < 0.05). The positive rate of P16 was 53.13% and its expression was related to age, histological grade and FIGO stage (P < 0.05). There was an inverse correlation between Cyclin D1 and P16, r = -0.4007 (P < 0.01).
Conclusion:
Cyclin D1 and P16 had cooperative effect and may play an important role in the development and progression of endometrial carcinoma.
