The nursing needs of a patient with a complicated abdominal wound
1Royal Free Hospital, London.
Abstract:
A patient with a complex wound after abdominal surgery had three types of treatment--wound manager bags, vacuum-assisted closure and a capillary dressing. The patient's self-image was profoundly affected by the size and appearance of his wound. But despite the problems the wound healed, thanks to regular assessment and a multidisciplinary approach to his care.
