Area of Science:

  • Cardiovascular Imaging
  • Thoracic Radiology

Background:

  • Pulmonary artery aneurysms are rare vascular abnormalities.
  • Incidental detection often occurs during routine imaging for other conditions.

Observation:

  • A case of proximal pulmonary artery aneurysm identified via chest X-ray is presented.
  • Detailed scintigraphic and angiographic features were documented.

Findings:

  • The study describes the characteristic imaging findings of a proximal pulmonary artery aneurysm.
  • Diagnostic imaging modalities like scintigraphy and angiography were crucial for characterization.

Implications:

  • Pulmonary artery aneurysms should be included in the differential diagnosis for patients presenting with lung masses.
