Summary

This study examined stun gun injuries in a homicide victim. Experiments on pigs revealed that post-mortem shocks do not mark skin, indicating all victim injuries occurred pre-mortem.

  • The victim presented with multiple pairs of round erythemas, some with central paleness and abrasions.
  • Stun gun injuries were distributed across her head, chest, abdomen, arms, and legs.

Findings:

  • Experiments on pigs demonstrated that electrical shocks administered post-mortem do not create visible skin marks.
  • The observed injuries on the victim were consistent with pre-mortem application of the stun gun.

Implications:

  • This research provides critical evidence for differentiating pre-mortem from post-mortem stun gun application in forensic investigations.
