Abstract:
The management of addictive behaviours calls for new protocols. Those which tend to standardise the different stages of care. Screening, when these protocols are available, rests on the utilisation of specific questionnaires. The motivational interview then incites the patient to engage in the commencement of care, or to persue it. After directly addressing the drug consumption, most often by withdrawal, a long-term management is proposed. This necessitates a constant and regular engagement of the therapist as well as the identification and treatment of the associated psychiatric problems.
