Summary

Occupational exposure to aluminum (Al) negatively impacts respiratory function in healthy non-smokers. Higher blood aluminum (AlB) levels correlate with decreased spirometry results, suggesting a need to reassess exposure limits.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the impact of occupational aluminum exposure on respiratory function.

  • 50 male shipyard workers exposed to Al underwent medical exams, chest X-rays, and spirometry.
