[Alzheimer's and other dementias]

The progressive aging of our societies has lead to a considerable increase in dementias in general, and specifically of Alzheimer's Disease. In this article, the authors analyze the fundamentals of the aforementioned disease, its etiology and the brain areas affected by it. The authors also speak about the clinical criteria for dementia in general, about the manner to diagnose them, and they provide a series of recommendations to those who care for patients who suffer from Alzheimer's Disease.
