Summary

This study on combined oral contraceptives found that while norethisterone/ethinyl estradiol (NET/EE) and levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol (LNG/EE) pills altered glucose and lipid profiles, most metabolic changes were not clinically significant compared to intrauterine devices (IUDs).
