A quantitative parameter characterizing the differences between the set-size object distinguishability and contrast at a preset dose is offered for use as an alternative to the comparative techniques systems currently used in visualizing the X-ray images. The parameter of threshold contrast distinguishability contains data on the quant efficiency of system detection. Noteworthily, the threshold contrast distinguishability, unlike the quant efficiency detection, enables a sufficiently simple experimental determination.
