Abstract:
It is no secret that the accuracy of responses to items on the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) varies greatly from clinician to clinician and item to item. Some questions seem ambiguous. Others are hard to understand. Others require subjective interpretation. The sponsors of a new project to improve the accuracy of OASIS responses brought together senior clinicians who were experts on OASIS to review OASIS items and make recommendations on ways of ensuring consistently accurate and reliable responses to each item.
