Objective:
To introduce Chi-squared automatic interaction detection (CHAID) method and its application in assessment of the factors that contribute to the Chinese university teachers' professional burnout.
Method:
With CHAID method, the data acquired from a questionnaire-based investigation among 100 full-time teachers of Chinese universities were analyzed.
Results And Conclusion:
Significant difference in the attitude toward the profession was noted between the teachers with high- and low-level professional burnout. Among the factors contributing to the teachers' negative attitude, the sense of accomplishment in the profession, degree of preference of the profession, status of personal relations and social communications, along with the working environment, are the key elements that have most profound effect upon the teachers.
