Summary

This study found that apparent diffusion constant (ADC) values from multi-shot spin-echo echo-planar diffusion-weighted imaging cannot differentiate between benign soft tissue tumors and sarcomas. However, changes in ADC values may help evaluate sarcoma treatment response.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the clinical utility of a multi-shot spin-echo echo-planar (SE-EPI) DWI sequence for soft tissue tumors.
  • To evaluate if DWI can differentiate benign lesions from sarcomas.
  • To explore DWI's role in assessing treatment response in sarcomas.

  • Utilized a multi-shot SE-EPI DWI sequence with b-values of 0 and 600 s/mm(2).
  • Applied phase navigation and pulse triggering for image acquisition.
