Abstract:
Two high fractures of the proximal segments during separate sagittal split osteotomies were treated by a modification of the "Obwegeser II" technique and screw osteosynthesis. Careful wedging of the large spreading osteotome in a more superior position while splitting up to the posterior border will probably prevent such complications.
