Abstract:
Novel racemic 5'-C-methyl-1',3'-dioxolan-4'-yl nucleosides were synthesized from the key intermediate, 2-benzoyloxymethyl-4-oxo-5-C-methyl-1,3-dioxolane, which was prepared from racemic lactic acid.
