Background:

  • Angiomatous nasal polyps are a rare subtype of inflammatory sinonasal polyps.
  • They are characterized by extensive vascular proliferation and ectasia.

Observation:

  • Infarction of these polyps can lead to clinical, radiological, and pathological findings simulating neoplastic processes.
  • Two cases presented with unusual polyp appearance, foul odor, bony changes on CT, and inhomogeneous enhancement on MRI.

Findings:

  • Histopathology revealed abundant vascular ectasia with intraluminal thrombosis and necrosis, alongside recanalization and reparative changes.
  • These findings highlight the potential for benign lesions to mimic malignant conditions.
