PATIENT SAFETY GOALS are part of new policies issued by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. THESE NEW POLICIES led Inova Health System, Falls Church, Va, to develop a standardized, system-wide policy for procedure verification and a preprocedure pause. THE MULTIFACILITY COMPANY overcame a variety of obstacles to implement a system that could be used across all departments in five hospitals.
