Background:

    • Photodynamic therapy with verteporfin demonstrated a significant benefit in preserving central visual field function.
    • The reduction in scotoma size suggests improved visual function and potential benefits for reading ability.
    • Verteporfin therapy offers a promising approach for visual rehabilitation in AMD patients with CNV.
