Ionic contrast media may offer a slightly better MR imaging contrast ratio for recurrent lumbar disk herniation compared to nonionic media, particularly at 50 minutes post-injection. This finding suggests timing and contrast agent type can influence diagnostic clarity in spinal imaging.
